Disabled Refuge Intercom

The introduction of the Equality Act (formerly the Disability Discrimination Act) requires that organisations must legally ensure suitable access for all employees and where applicable, members of the public regardless. Where a lift has been installed to provide this access disabled refuge points meeting the criteria or BS9999:2008 must be installed to ensure that persons in need of assistance can await safe evacuation. A requirement for all lifts to descend to the ground floor on a fire alarm activation makes this a practical necessity.

ESS can design, install, commission and maintain your disabled refuge intercom system to ensure your safety responsibilities are met. Using our simple but effective BS 5839 Part 9 compliant system we can deliver projects ranging from a single refuge point to 128 points.
